When you are poor and you want a better life, sometimes you must make things that you are not proud of them. The poverty is not an excuse to make bad things, you must fight with all the problems and face them, you must have faith that someone is watching you, and protecting you. Last week my mother got sick, and my dad had to get her to the hospital. It was night, and i was working in that moments. My brother called me to tell me that. In the next day i went to the hospital to visit my mother. I was very worried about she’s health. At the front door of the hospital was a guardian. He told me that in that day visits are not allowed. In that moment i was wondering… “why he don’t let me in?”. Few seconds before i saw few persons entering in the hospital. They waren’t doctors or something like that. They had bags with food and other things for uncles, fathers or mothers. After few seconds i gived him 50.000 lei ( about 1,5 $) to let me in. When he saw money, he opened the door and he told me not to stay long. All the way to my mother sallon, i was wondering “- How is it possible? It’s been 14 years since Ceausescu died and the bribe era has finnished”. I think we need another 25 years to change our mentallity about bribe. Coruption and bribery is all over the place in Romania. If you go to the doctor, he don’t treat you well if you don’t give him “a small attention”, you cannot get in a good school or university if you don’t open the door with some “daddy’s money”, or you can’t get a good contract if you don’t pay someone a small commision. I’m proud because now i’m a student at the Economical Studies Academy from Bucharest. I didn’t had big points at the exams, but i was accepted. Compared with others, i have peace in my hart, because i didn’t payed for a place in that university, so i cannot be blammed for taking place of another good student. Finnaly i opened the door to my mother. She was verry glad to see me. In that moment i forgot that i had to pay to visit my mother. I’t weard that we must pay to bring happynes in a soul. To take off the tear from their eyes.
