Today I decided to take my room mate with me.) outside to drink some beers. Dragos is a nice guy. He’s working in the same dept. like me, restaurant. I meet him in Bucharest when I was preparing all the documents to get this job. I had to go in Beograd to take the Australian visa.
It was 9pm, and JP was waiting for me at the gangway as usual. He wasn’t alone. He was with another friend of him, Trip (that’s his nickname). We went to a place where I we were able to see a nice overview of Seattle by night, amazing city. All those lights, colors and Space Needle make Seattle to look like a odyssey.
Not too far away from that place, Dave was waiting for us in a nice bar with many young people inside. We couldn’t get in because Dragos didn’t had he’s driving license with him. We had only our Laminex (our ID onboard). I don’t understand why they didn’t let us in because that ID have picture, date of birth and other specifications. With that ID I was able to make bank transactions, and I couldn’t get in a bar? Weird.
We couldn’t get inside, so we went to another bar. Nice place with many brands of beer in the menu. Perfect place for us. We drink few kinds of beer. At a moment, I ordered a beer that tasted like red wine with Cola. Weird beer. I cleaned my “pipes” with an Alaskan beer. Very good. After few beers each and a lot of chat about differences regarding Romania and US, after many questions about “How is to work on a cruise ship?”, we were hungry, so we went to a fast food to order some late dinner. That place was crowdie. In few minutes they closed the windows. CLOSED. I don’t get it… you people close the fast food while a bunch of people are waiting with money in their pockets willing to buy food? Hmmm…
Few minutes away, an OPEN supermarket was waiting for us. Dave took some chicken and a Ham sandwich, and Trip some pizza. With all those we went to Trip’s house. JP and T prepared the pizza while the rest of us “burned” another beer, waiting for food to come. After a good late dinner we went to sleep.
In the morning we had to come back to the ship. Duty call. (Trip, thank you for your hospitality. We had a great time, and it was a pleasure for me to meet JP’s friends).
